Product Manager Events Platform(1743)



The Product Manager EMS Platform reports to the Events and Mobility Solutions (EMS) Business unit VP.

As a product owner for EMS Platform you will have ownership for defining and executing the product strategy. You would be expected to work closely with customers and internal teams to help drive new features, champion product awareness, and be responsible for the overall success of your product of all application modules of the EMS Platform: Accreditation Module, Mobile Event Ticket Delivery, Access Control Module and Card Printing module.  The EMS platform is a cloud platform with web admin user interfaces and multiple Mobile Apps for event access control and for the fan attending the event: MobiBadge.

It requires close collaboration with Business and Sales to prioritize and launch new product releases, and with Marketing Communications to provide product marketing collateral and with the Engineering teams, especially the Director of Engineering, to refine and prioritize the feature user stories and requirements. 


Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Ownership of the specific module features: product stories, backlog and prioritization
  • Drive the product roadmap
  • Interact with Engineering to refine product requirements into User stories and clarify requirements (Grooming)
  • Interact with Design team to determine visual design of the features
  • Produce and maintain solution and product related documentation and sales material: Overview / sales presentation, Quick start guides
  • Know the products of the competition and position our products / platform against them
  • Define value propositions for each of the Event Management Platform (EMP) modules: Accreditation, Mobile Event Ticket Delivery, Access Control (Temporary events and for stadiums), Season Card printing, and the mobile Apps.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Pre-sales to guide and prioritize roadmap, based on market demands
  • Launch new products and major releases: produce content that clearly articulates a compelling value proposition; educate internal stakeholders, such as Sales teams and external stakeholders such as influential analysts.
  • Represent the business at all times and with any audience to explain the customer-led benefits of the product line
  • Collaborate with Technical pre-sales to be able to effectively demo the platform to new potential customers
  • Collaborate with technical partners inside HID and outside
  • Once business travel is possible again, be ready to spend a significant amount of your time on travel to meet internal remote teams and existing and potential new customers

  • Ability to communicate with various levels of leadership
      • Demonstrated success in positioning and launching differentiated products that meet and exceed business objectives
      • Know the technical side of access control and the technologies that are involved in modern cloud based mobile solutions.
      • Subject matter expertise in at least one of the particular product or market (e.g. Accreditation or Event Access Control). This should include specific industry or technical knowledge. Event / Ticketing industry experience a definite plus/
      • Deep understanding of how a product is sold and the channels they are sold into
      • Excellent teamwork skills
      • Proven ability to influence cross-functional distributed remote teams. The ability to influence and work collaboratively with sales, and Engineering is especially important
      • Proven ability to have worked with remote outsourced engineering, design teams


Education and/or Experience          

  • Minimum of Bachelor degree in Engineering or relevant discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in a Product Management (Product Owner) role in the Enterprise Software market. Experience with Event Industry, Access Control Industry, SaaS and/or security is preferred
  • Experience leading a remote team



Language Skills                   

  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
  • Exceptional presentation skills              


Computer Skills     

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Proficient with Project and Program management tools and techniques (e.g. MS Project, Gantt charts, etc)
  • Proficient with agile product requirement management tools: JIRA
  • Familiar with web and mobile app development practices is a plus
  • Familiar with application lifecycle management 
  • Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, iOS, etc.
  • Experience with content management systems, such as Microsoft Sharepoint, Confluence

  • Extensive travel and fieldwork including international travel, therefore employee must possess or can acquire a valid passport
