The Head of Data Analytics will supervise the Central Analytics team through ongoing analysis, ETL, MDM and BI workstreams on the continued journey to replace legacy systems and implement a cross-functional platform built for longevity and growth.

 

In addition, lead the team in the evolution of a departmental culture, policies, and strategy, ensuring Enterprise level SDLC best practices and standards are followed.

 

This role is a key contributor to the Data Management strategies across the organization, ensuring data is recognised and managed as a corporate asset and driving improvements in data quality. 

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic design and delivery of a business intelligence program that supports the overall group strategy and operational priorities.
  • Lead the team in strong understanding of the business processes, drivers, and priorities.
  • Implement governance to ensure BI and Software Development Best Practices are always followed, and desired outcomes are achieved.
  • Drive the performance of analytics solutions to impact overall business results.
  • Responsible for setting the departmental vision and culture and fostering a positive and collaborative approach.
  • Takes initiative in developing training programs needed for a Self-Service Business Intelligence community in addition to the Central Analytics Team of developers.
  • Provide central support and training to the Self-Service Business Intelligence community across the organisation.
  • Mentor key data analytics and warehousing personnel, constantly honing their professional, technical and personnel skills.
  • Identify data quality issues and support information governance with the necessary support and action to improve data quality and management practices.
  • Support the team to validate, interpret, and create analytics, reports and presentations for senior data analytics management, departmental heads/management, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide vision and leadership across the organisation as the BI capabilities mature.  

Collebration 

  • Chairs the Enterprise Strategic Analytics Council meetings to determine priorities on Analytics Roadmap.
  • Resides on the Data Governance Executive Board and a key contributor to the Data Management and Governance initiatives and programs, supporting them to successful completion.
  • Collaborate with numerous departments across the business, advocating the proper use of data analytics, ensuring the delivery of desired operational results.
  • Facilitates brainstorming and team collaboration.

Qualiciations and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with 10 years' experience in data analytics or data science, systems engineering, information management, informatics, statistics, or similar role
  • 8+ years’ experience in a leadership role driving improvements in data quality and deriving value from data and analytics

Essential Skills

  • Strong understanding and aptitude in data analysis, metrics, and trends with applied knowledge of measurement, statistics
  • Broad knowledge of machine learning and predictive analytic techniques and statistical diagnostics of models
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in Data Governance and Data Management strategies, tools and initiatives
  • Excellent ability to communicate technical findings at an appropriate level of detail to different audiences, both verbally and by graphically
  • High level of ethics related to data privacy and the sensitivity of client information
  • Equal measure of technical, business and strategic skills with a keen eye for detail where appropriate
  • Advanced knowledge of Oracle, Salesforce and cloud platforms  
  • Proven progressive leadership and personnel management and development
  • Excellent spoken English skills with impeccable grammar
  • Natural ability to make strong, lasting, collaborative, and supportive connections with other leaders and team members with a positive, can-do, high-energy persona.
